Blu-ray Slipcover
Size Guide

Blu-ray cases have changed. Make sure you order the right size — 11mm and 14mm cases look nearly identical but a slipcover made for one will not fit the other.

Why this matters

Two sizes, one big difference

For most of Blu-ray’s history, the standard case spine was 14mm. Around 2023, a handful of publishers — primarily Universal and Warner Bros. — quietly switched to a slimmer 11mm case. There was no announcement, and often no visual difference from the front. The result: the same title from different publishers, or different print runs, can come in different case sizes.

We now offer both sizes across our full range so you always get a perfect fit.

How to check

Measure your Blu-ray case

The size is on the spine — the narrow edge of the case that faces you on a shelf. Measure it with a ruler or simply hold two cases side by side; the difference is visible once you know what to look for.

1

Look at the spine

The spine is the narrow edge of the case facing outward on your shelf. This is where the width is measured — not the front or back.

2

Measure it

Use a ruler or calipers against the spine edge of the plastic case itself. You’ll get either approximately 11mm or 14mm.

3

Pick your size

Select the matching size when ordering. Still unsure? Drop us a message with your title and we’ll confirm before you buy.

Common questions

FAQ

Will an 11mm slipcover fit a 14mm case?

No. The slipcover will be too tight to slide on and forcing it risks damaging the print. A 14mm slipcover on an 11mm case will be loose and fall off. Always check your case size before ordering.

How do I know which size my Blu-ray is without measuring?

One reliable shortcut: PlayStation game cases are always 14mm. For Blu-ray films it’s trickier — publishers changed sizes without announcement and even the same franchise can have mixed sizes across volumes or editions. Some publishers like Universal and Warner Bros. started mixing in 11mm cases around 2023, but even within the same publisher it varies by title and release. There is no reliable rule by publisher alone. When in doubt, measure the spine of the plastic case itself.

What if I ordered the wrong size?

You can return the slipcover at your own expense and we will issue a refund once it arrives back with us. Please note we do not send replacements for incorrectly ordered sizes — the correct size would need to be purchased separately. We strongly recommend confirming your case size before ordering.

Do you cover steelbooks, digibooks, or other formats?

We only produce slipcovers in standard 11mm and 14mm Blu-ray sizes. If you want a steelbook or custom format cover, you’re welcome to commission a designer or use our steelbook template and have it printed through us.

Not sure which size? Ask on Discord.

Post a photo of your case in our server and we or the community will confirm the right size for you.
